In my never-ending quest to reuse some of the random pounds of garbage my giant family makes each day and to fulfill some of my crafting obsession, I present…paper towel art.
Lol. This poor little guy, well I should start with this took way longer than it should of to make because I am Miss Put-it-off….you know Lady Procrastination.
Like I started this last year. 😐
It all started down in a craft area, then that area got all packed up, because teenagers suck sometimes (a whole other rant), and then it just kinda got forgotten about. I really didn’t mean to at first, then it just became this mockery piece that would stare me down like the Eye of Mordor, each time I went into that area. Ugh.
Then I found it….motivation that is and finally finished it.
Anyways, it’s super easy and I, of course, used a glue gun!
Here’re all my secrets:
So I started by cutting them down the center and re-glueing them with a glue gun, in a twisted pattern.
After they were nice a dry/hardened, I coated them with a mixture of:
- 1 pt Mod Podge
- 2 pt Water
- and..some coffee grounds
Then I (hot) glued them all on a 3-inch circle, in this square or diamond pattern, I guess it is in the eye of the beholder, right?
Next, I took another one of the circles I cut and painted it with a quick gold simmer. Then I wound it with black and brown twine.
Add some more glue to the back of the circle and securely affix.
Oh yea, take that glue gun and a little bit of twine and make a little loop on the back to hang it on the wall.
Like I said, you choose, I chose square, because you know…
